Judy McMahon, Facility Manager

As Facility Manager, Judy leads the team at Stella Maris with a person-centered care approach, which means being attentive to the residents, respecting their dignity and responding to their needs. “We should strive to do ordinary things extraordinarily well.” (Catherine McAuley) “The staff and I live by this quote every day providing outstanding care to our residents.”

Deidre Craig, Nurse Unit Manager

Deidre has over 30 years’ experience in nursing and has worked at Stella Maris for the past six years. Deidre commenced as a Registered Nurse, then stepped up into the Nurse Manager role. “The residents are the reason why we are here at Stella Maris. We have a great team which I am proud to be part of.”

Andrea Pfrogner, Clinical Assessment Coordinator

Andrea joined Stella Maris in 2014 as a Registered Nurse and progressed to a Clinical Nurse Specialist and then to a Clinical Assessment Coordinator (ANACC). Andrea is passionate about Stella Maris & the people she cares for, ensuring compliance is met and funding opportunities maximized to provide the best level of care possible for the residents.

Maureen Bryant, Pastoral Care Coordinator

Maureen has worked at Stella Maris for 22 years and has been serving in Pastoral Care for over eight years. “Pastoral care for me is very satisfying as you meet the residents and families and form a relationship with them for this chapter of their life. Stella Maris is a very special place for our residents to call home.”

Paul Taylor, Maintenance Supervisor

Paul has worked at Stella Maris in the maintenance department for 13 years. Paul loves working in aged care with the residents, as it is a reminder to him of his grandparents whom he remembers fondly, and he brings this level of care to his interaction with the residents.

Deborah Bird, Educator

Debbie has over 30 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse and 25 years in the aged care industry. The last seven years have been spent working as an educator. “It is a real privilege to be able to assist with staff development and to be able to inspire them to continuously improve the quality of lives of residents in our care.”

Carol Sundstrom, Lifestyle Team Lead

Carol has worked at Stella Maris Aged Care for 15 years and is the Leisure and Lifestyle team leader. We have a team of three covering different activities for residents including one-to-one visits, as well as various group activities. “My aim is for residents to enjoy their lives to the fullest and put smiles on their faces, to ensure that their life preferences and choices are always respected.”
